Visit Quad Cities Hosts Another Big Sports Weekend in the QC

Quad Cities (Monday, July 26, 2021) – Coming off a big weekend in the QC with the Quad-City Times Bix 7 and a series of special Bix 7 events, Visit Quad Cities knows the critically-important sports tourism industry has proven again and again it yields positive results for the Quad Cities.  The QC region’s official destination management and marketing organization (DMMO) announces another big weekend for sports with several championship tournaments taking place here and RAGBRAI rolls into DeWitt on Friday, July 30 and ends in Clinton on Saturday, July 31.

  • The Bass Federation Inc.Junior World Championship & Leadership Conference – July 28-30
  • U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region 2 Tournament of Champions – July 30-August 1
  • Illinois State 9-10-11 Little League Championship – July 24-29

NAFA World Series

The North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) World Series returns to the Quad Cities on July 28-August 1, 2021.  Games start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28.  44 men’s fastpitch teams are ready to compete for the championship title at the Greenvalley Sports Complex, 5920 52nd Street in Moline, Ill.  Tickets for the tournament are available at the gate. 

  • Tournament Pass:  Adult $20; Seniors $15 (60+); Youth $10 (ages 12-18); Under 12 Free
  • Daily: Adult $8; Senior $5 (60+); Youth $3 (ages 12-18); Under 12 Free

2021 TBF Junior World Championship

The Quad Cities welcomes The Bass Federation Inc. (TBF) and their 2021 TBF Junior World Championship (JWC) & Leadership Conference.  The 2021 JWC includes a two-person team format and three days of competition on July 28-30, launching from Shuler’s Shady Grove Park, 1128 1st Avenue in Rapids City, Ill.  Around 40 teams take off at first safe light (around 6 a.m.) with the afternoon weigh-ins at approximately 3 p.m.  The field reduces to the top 10 teams on Friday with the championship awarded during Friday’s afternoon weigh-in.

The Annual TBF State Leadership Conference on July 28-30 in the Quad Cities invites 49 TBF-affiliated state federations to send state official(s) to attend meetings on fishing, youth and conservation items, strategic planning, educational sessions, how to operate their local & state events safely, as well as annual elections of TBF national directors.

USASA Region 2 Tournament of Champions

United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), Region 2 Tournament of Champions takes place July 30-August 1, 2021, at TBK Bank Sports Complex, 4850 Competition Drive in Bettendorf, Iowa.  The Tournament of Champions features state and league champion teams of the USASA Midwest Region.  Competition is conducted in eight categories:  Men’s Open, Men’s U23, Men’s O30, Men’s O40, Women’s Open, Women’s U23, Women’s O30, and COED.

The USASA is the premier national soccer organization dedicated to participation in, enjoyment and growth of amateur adult soccer across America.  The USASA is divided into four regions.  The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) is the National Governing Body for soccer in the United States, and USASA is the only member of the USSF Adult Council.

Illinois State 9-10-11 Little League Championship

The Illinois State 9-10-11 Little League Championship tournament kicked off on Saturday at the Warren Giles Riverside Complex, 3300 5th Ave., Moline, Ill.  The championship game is Thursday, July 29 at 6 p.m.  Eight teams from across Illinois are competing in the double-elimination state championship tournament.  The Quad Cities last hosted this Little League championship in 2009.

75th Annual ISC Men's Fastball World Tournament

Next month Visit Quad Cities and the City of Eldridge host the ISC (International Softball Congress) Men’s Fastball World Tournament on August 14-21, 2021, at Sheridan Meadows Complex, 851 N 1st St. in Eldridge, Iowa.  22 of the best men’s fastpitch teams will be competing in the 75th annual ISC tournament.  Opening Ceremonies take place on Sunday, August 15 at 5 p.m. on Field #2 following the finish of the afternoon game. 

Tournament play continues all week, with the championship game on Saturday, Aug. 21.  In conjunction with the World Tournament, ISC will host a Legends Championship in Eldridge on August 19-21, 2021.  More information and volunteer sign-up is available at https://visitquadcities.com/isc-quad-cities
